The debut from Right Away, Great Captain! was recorded over three days in a 100-year old cabin in the mountains of Virginia. The rustic setting was the perfect fit for the lyrically-driven, acoustic folk album. Andy Hull, the singer/song writer behind Right Away, Great Captain!, has captured the saga of a 17th Century sailor who spends three years at sea over fifteen tracks, each song written as a journal entry. The concept album chronicles the first part of the sailor’s journey. Hull intends the story to continue over three albums. Sometimes a memory of past events, sometimes a conversation between the sailor and his captain, the songs on the album communicate ideas of loneliness, pain, and longing, with gleams of hope for the voyage ahead.
