WINSTON audio

WINSTON audio (atlanta, ga)

“How a plant blossoms and dies and comes back again. Seasons reflect the same thing. It's all-rhythmical. Just like your heart pumps blood at a constant pace. So as people we try to find where we fit in with that. Specifically, where death fits in.” This is The Red Rhythm as Daniel Dewitt, singer and bassist, of Winston Audio describes it.

The Red Rhythm is the first full length from Georgia’s Winston Audio, but by no means is Winston Audio some new band. Winston Audio formed in 2002 sporting a younger sound that lacked the romantic fury they have now. As the days have faded into the past members have changed, as they do in bands, but when the current line-up of Daniel Dewitt, Dan Gleason, Zach Brown, Michael Adkins, and Shane Lenzen O'Conell began to play and write together the sound expanded, more textures found homes, and waves rushed in for melodies to harmonize over drenched drunk guitars.

Touches of Seattle darkness, Southern heartfelt indie-rock, these phrases get glued to Winston Audio to describe their sound, their sonic output, but neither of these really describes them. As the name of the album suggests Winston Audio are slaves to a rhythm, a rhythm that takes the listener to a place they have been to before, a place familiar enough for them to let lose and feel the great release only a band can bring, no where do you see this more than when Winston Audio takes to the stage, their true home. Live they have become known for communicating a subtlety in loudness that truly puts them in a class all of their own. Stages have been shared with Silversun Pickups, Manchester Orchestra, FUN, Colour Revolt, Straylight Run, Anathallo, and mewithoutyou.

This is just the beginning for Winston Audio. The rhythms and hums of the music have not even begun to travel their distances
