RIGHT AWAY, great captain!

RIGHT AWAY, great captain! (atlanta, ga)

For Manchester Orchestra front man Andy Hull, Right Away, Great Captain! is more than a side project. Hull has broken away from MO's indie-rock and written a beautifully introspective folk-driven album. Inspired to write a story about a 17th Century sailor, Hull wrote and recorded a collection of songs titled The Bitter End. The fifteen tracks are the first released under the name Right Away, Great Captain! and the first chapter of a multi-part series.

As Right Away, Great Captain! Hull is able to hone his ability as a songwriter on one topic, something he says doesn't come naturally for him. "Often in my writing I get very distracted and want to move on to another subject. Choosing to do this record was for me the challenge to see if I could write a story that could not be summed up in one record, and to continue it on over three."
